Matthew Joshua Knisley | Graphic Artist | Works on Papyrus and Paper
Author-researcher Mason Winfield is the host of TWILIGHT on the WESTERN DOOR: a program of interviews with diverse experts in fields of the spiritual, the supernatural, and the paranormal. Our name is a mix of themes. The half-light, dawn and dusk, was the time of enchantment for Europe’s Celtic societies. “Twilight knowledge” is that type of understanding that can only be met between day’s definition and night’s obscurity. Our base, Western New York, is the traditional territory of the Seneca Nation nicknamed, “Keepers of the Western Door.” Our guests range far beyond. Mystics, philosophers, shamans, researchers, parapsychologists, occultists, visionaries, paranormalists, First Nations elders and leaders in world-tradition take us from the roots to the cutting edge of human understanding.
"Some of the most powerful shamanic art of our era is being produced by the graphic artist Matthew Joshua Knisley. As if he was born with an inner channel to the Elders, Matt is astonishingly tuned to the intuitive, the megalithic, and the metaphysical. He gets it. His work has become the virtual face of Spirit Way Project, and we are honored to work with him."
–Mason Winfield, co-founder, Spirit Way Project
Spirit Way Project co-founder Mason Winfield is Upstate New York’s most predominant paranormalist. As part of his study, he has interviewed thousands of perceived eyewitnesses to ghostly/supernatural phenomena. He has become fascinated by the forms in which apparitions are reported to come to us. Most of us would presume that the ghosts witnesses report would represent the spectrum of the human population: roughly equal balance between the genders; an appropriate mix of children, adults, and seniors; and perhaps an ethnic quotient commensurate with the region’s population. Instead, some human and non-human forms overwhelmingly predominate. In this short section Mason unveils his lighthearted top ten list of ghostly forms about the Upstate. Maybe at another time he will speculate a bit more about each one.
Algonquin Elder and Spirit Way Project co-founder Michael Bastine is an important spiritual teacher in Upstate New York and a comforting presence in times of crisis. Introduced by Spirit Way Project co-founder Mason Winfield, Michael gives us his thoughts about the Spring 2020 pandemic based on the insights of his Native American tutors. As always, he ends with a powerful blessing.
The two founders of Spirit Way Project, Algonquin Elder Michael Bastine and author/researcher Mason Winfield, have had many a dialogue about the Crystal Skulls. Mason is pretty well informed upon the attitudes of the mainstream world concerning these legendary objects. As diverse as the viewpoints are, they often leave out the traditions of the Native Elders. This interview represents Mason’s attempt to understand what has not been published about them. We begin with Mason bringing our guests up to speed and posing a few speculations about the Crystal Skulls. But most of the show is Michael taking over, responding in depth to Mason’s questions. Based on what was left to be said in this program, we’ll clearly be returning to this subject.
